Keyman Update for 6 June 2025

This blog reports on significant Keyman product and keyboard development updates over the period from 26 May 2025 — 6 June 2025.

Keyman minor releases

Keyman 18.0.237 stable and 18.0.238 stable were released in this cycle. Significant updates in these versions include:

  • Fixed invalid chars validation in LDML (#14071)
• Windows
  • Fixed update installation for automatic update (#14010)
• Linux
  • Fixed header guard in OrderedOutputDevice.h (#13963)
  • Fixed configurable path in .service of basu (#13999)
  • Added --no-werror to avoid reporting warnings as errors (#14000)
• Android & iOS
  • New app icon for FirstVoices (#13917, #14011)
• Web
  • Fixed empty layout fontSize (#13960)

Keyman 19.0.48 alpha through 19.0.57 alpha were also released in this cycle. There are some updates:

• Keyman Developer
  • Added and improved line numbers and internal documentation for LDML (#14016, #14025, #14036, #14037, #14048, #14050, #14054, #14064, #14090, #14097)
• Linux
  • Fixed unavailability of Download Keyman Keyboards (#14032)

Keyboard updates

New keyboards

• A new Kazakh (Arabic) keyboard for Kazakh, thanks to MuratKaribay (#3547)
• A new Horami keyboard for Horami language, thanks to kasosolav (#3467)
• A new netGujarati keyboard for Gujarati Language, thanks to nileshbandhiya (#3557)

Keyboards enhancement

• Burushaski Girminas (بروشسکی) keyboard v2.0.2: added several Arabic ligatures and a font, thanks to quwatsunny (#3550)
• Cham Phonetic (SIL) keyboard v1.2: added < and > to RALT layer (#3551)
• Soninke N’ti keyboard v1.0.1: added keystrokes to output ordinal numbers, thanks to oyousuf (#3553)
• taichow keyboard v2.0: use r key to represent rising tone, to fastening typing and to be similar with Vietnamese typing, thanks to Cathaylaboratory (#3554)
• Kadu (Kadu) keyboard v1.1: adjusted bottom row of mobile layout to output correctly (#3558)
• Kazakh (Arabic) keyboard v1.0.1: changed the default length of the space and enter keys in the touch layout, thanks to MuratKaribay (#3555)
