This blog reports on significant Keyman product and keyboard development updates over the period from 13 October 2025 — 24 October 2025.

Keyman minor releases

Keyman 18.0.243 stable was released in this cycle. There were notable changes such as:

  • Keyman for macOS
  • Keyman for Linux
    • Replace dbus-x11 dependency and update handling if dbus is already running (#14898)
  • Keyman for Android
    • Update the “Adjust longpress delay” page layout (#14906)
    • Correct the calculations of the bottom insets for app and system (#14913)
      Note: This fixes the On Screen Keyboard issue from 18.0.241.

Keyman 19.0.140-alpha through 19.0.145-alpha were also released in this cycle. Significant updates in these versions include:

  • Keyman for macOS
  • Keyman for Linux
    • Handle the keyboard installation into shared area (#14953)
    • Improvement of schema installation during keyman-config/build.sh install (#14962)
    • Fix hanging app with ibus restart (#14971)
  • Keyman for Android
    • Set the main app with a white background (#14935)
  • Keyman Developer
    • Fix backslash in strings syntax of the .kmn language (#15001)
    • Handle missing begin Unicode in Keyman Web compiler (#15002)

Keyboards enhancement:

Keyboard App Builder updates

Keyboard App Builder 13.2 was released on 17 October 2025.

New Features and Improvements

  • 16KB compatibility of Android apps.
  • Fonts added and updated.

Bug fixes

  • Android App: Solved usability issue for the About page. 
  • iOS App: Switched to Xcode 26 and arm64 simulators.

Keyman 19 roadmap update

The March 2026 Keyman 19 roadmap gets a candid mid-year update. An internal review found 363 open issues still assigned to v19. ARM Windows and Mac installer support are on track; CLDR mobile keyboards are postponed. The team is down to 9 — contributions and donations are welcome.

Keyman Update for 22 May 2026

Keyman 19 alpha (229–236) lands with caps lock and Linux Debian fixes. New keyboards for the Zou and Mising communities join the library, and Lac Viet v3.0 gains Zhuang support. Two new contributors welcomed.
