This blog reports on significant Keyman product and keyboard development updates over the period from 28 October 2024 — 08 November 2024.

Keyman minor releases

Keyman 17.0.331 stable and 17.0.332 stable were released in this cycle. There are a number of notable changes, including: 

  • Android
    • Hide word suggestion on password fields (#12466).
  • Linux
    • Fix the download dialog that occasionally only renders a blank screen (#12616).

Keyman 18.0.132 alpha through 18.0.138 alpha were also released in this cycle.

Significant updates in the alpha versions include:

  • Developer
    • kmc generate is a new tool that allows you to create a new keyboard or lexical model project from a template. This will replace most aspects of kmconvert. (#11014).
    • kmc copy allows you to copy a keyboard or lexical model project to a new name and folder (#12555).
  • Linux
    • Support Keyman for Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky Puffin (#12614).

Predictive text dictionary updates

  • Bunong Wordlist v1.3: updated script of text prediction (#281)
  • Jarai v1.2: updated script of text prediction (#282)
  • Chuon Nath Dictionary v1.1: fixed incorrect word  (#290)
  • Brao Lexical Model v1.4: added a new wordlist and updated script of text prediction (#284, #285)

Keyman Update for 17 July 2026

In this sprint cycle (6-17th) of July, Keyman for Android, Linux, iOS, and Web bring significant bug fixes to alpha versions (19.0.252-258). Moreover, Android has one BREAKING CHANGE and KNOWN ISSUE. However, there is no keyboard or lexical model updates, but Keyboard App Builder 14.2 was released earlier this month! KAB brings new features and improvements, as well as bug fixes to the latest version. Don't forget about our biweekly testimony!
