This blog reports on significant Keyman product and keyboard development updates over the period from 18 August 2025 — 29 August 2025.

Keyman minor releases

Keyman 18.0.239 stable and 18.0.240 stable were released in this cycle. Significant updates in these versions include:

  • Keyman for Linux
    • Document the requirement of patched ibus for Keyman (#14113)
    • Fix lintian warning (#14591)
  • Keyman for Android
    • Show the system OSK while a physical keyboard is connected on Android 15 (#14547)
    • Add preferences for FirstVoices and Keyman apps to show OSK when physical keyboard is active (#14561)
    • Address keyboard’s size issue (#14473)
  • Keyman for iOS
    • Restore keyboard scale for iPad Air 2 (#14306)
  • Keyman for Web
    • Fix error loading OSK on KeymanWeb Test Pages (#14238)

Keyman 19.0.102 alpha through 19.0.109 alpha were also released in this cycle. Some notable changes are:

  • Keyman Developer
    • Flag missing or empty <ID> elements in package source with a compiler error (#14649)
    • Handle failure to create destination path (#14650)
  • Keyman for Windows
    • Check automatic updates (#14295)
  • Keyman for Linux
    • Fix keyboards missing from menu (#14542)
  • Keyman for Android
    • Show the system OSK while a physical keyboard is connected on Android 15 (#14547)
    • Add preferences for FirstVoices and Keyman apps to show OSK when physical keyboard is active (#14539, #14546)
    • Fix layout gap for in-app and system keyboard (#14619)

In this sprint cycle (6-17th) of July, Keyman for Android, Linux, iOS, and Web bring significant bug fixes to alpha versions (19.0.252-258). Moreover, Android has one BREAKING CHANGE and KNOWN ISSUE. However, there is no keyboard or lexical model updates, but Keyboard App Builder 14.2 was released earlier this month! KAB brings new features and improvements, as well as bug fixes to the latest version. Don't forget about our biweekly testimony!
